The WP Rugby Academy looks to expose its players to a world class training and development environment.
Consultant and guest coaches, both local and international, frequent the Academy weekly training schedules ensuring that our attacking, defensive and set phases are in line with modern systems and trends.
It was an incredible experience for the Academy to have the current Worcester Warrior’s defensive coach Omar Mouneimne host a series of 4 Defensive sessions over a two week period.
These sessions focussed on all aspects of defense in the lecture room and on field.

- Attitude
- systems
- roles and responsibilities
- varying defensive styles
- tackle techniques
- contact skills
- awareness
- communication
- studying attack to improve defense
- set phase and phase play defense.
With his vast experience having worked with Italy, Stade Francais, Edinburgh and WP he proved to be compelling as he had the players fully focused and absorbing every word as he relayed his stories and experiences.
Our boys learnt an immense amount over the 2 week period and his unique abrasive coaching style left its mark undoubtedly.
