The Stormers have invited us down for training session tomorrow at 09:00am in preparation for their local derby against the Cheetahs from Bloemfontein. This is an exciting prospect for us; as our boys will experience first hand where their ‘heroes’ train and prepare as professionals. We look forward to the chance at showcasing our talent and to further enhance the experience of squad against a highly professional outfit.

We were out today in Swellendam visiting Hoërskool Swellendam where we were able to instill our high intensity training regime with the boys and give the coaches some new fresh ideas to get the best out of their team. The energy the boys gave was fantastic and we were excited to work with such an enthusiastic bunch of boys and we look forward to working with them and many other schools in the future.

The boys played a very tightly contested game today against the Western Province Rugby Institute in the searing heat. Both teams have been preparing for the upcoming U19/U21 selection and we as an academy have instrumented a regimented approach towards getting our boys ready and prepared to stake a claim for these spots. As an academy we have been implemented to add major depth at the junior levels and we continue to do so. Today we took a massive step towards that in winning the game 21-19. A big thanks to the our brothers from the Institute for making the trip down south.

On Thursday the 12th of March 2015 we will be playing two teams against the SARU Boland Academy. First kick off is at 14:00pm at the False Bay Rugby Football Club in Constantia. This is part of our ongoing development of the our players under high pressure against quality opposition.

The WPRA met the WPRI for the 2nd time is as many weeks at Villagers RFC on Thursday the 5th of March 2015. Here are some action shot from the game courtesy of Action Pix Event Photography.

The day we have all been waiting for has now finally arrived. Arguably the two strongest rugby fraternities meet for first of many excursions to happen throughout 2015; in Stellenbosch and the stakes couldn’t be any higher. It has been a tough and gruelling 2 months at the WPRA as the boys have been pushing hard and training on other levels to be able to meet the game with the intensity and physicality it deserves. There will be no bars held, no leashes strained and no quarters given; this is truly going to be a massive collision of WP aggression.

Class of 2015 are you ready for the journey of a lifetime?

On the 19th of January 2015 we will commence our second year as an academy with our new and exciting intake. We look to welcome the players and parents alike to our opening ceremony at the home of the WPRA, Athlete Development Centre in the Tokai Forest.

We are extremely excited to hit the ground running looking forward an action packed 2015.
